The Gros Morne Institute for Sustainable Tourism (GMIST) in collaboration with its funding partners plans to host a series of "Gatherings" with a distinctly Canadian approach to motivate awareness and engagement in sustainable tourism by Canada's tourism industry, its stakeholders and clients, calling upon their social values. The conference (Sept 29 - Oct 2) to be convened in Rocky Harbour, Gros Morne National Park in 2008, will demonstrate and position Canada as a premiere sustainable tourism destination.
